Standard split
Standard split system air conditioning
One indoor unit, one outdoor unit, one room. Usually the fastest and most cost-effective way to add efficient heating and cooling to a single space.
What a standard split involves
A single indoor unit mounted on a wall, paired with one outdoor condenser. It heats and cools the room it’s in, with none of the ductwork or extra indoor units the other two options involve.
It suits a single room, an open-plan living area, or as a first step before deciding whether to expand into multi-head or ducted later. Part of our heating and cooling range.
Why there’s no headline figure here
Replacing an eligible old system with an approved high-efficiency split system can attract a Victorian Energy Upgrades discount — but it isn’t a fixed amount or a set percentage. It depends on the approved product, the activity and the current certificate factor.
We confirm whether your job qualifies, and what the discount is worth, before you agree to anything.
Not a government program, and not run by us. We do not work for the Victorian Government, and the activity and any products are supplied by private providers, not by or on behalf of the Government. Participation in the Victorian Energy Upgrades scheme is voluntary.
NRGPAL is not a VEU accredited provider — it is a scheme participant, carrying out approved upgrades on behalf of accredited providers. The accredited provider for your job is named in your paperwork.
The program’s code of conduct, dispute resolution process and consumer factsheet are all set out on our VEU Consumer Information page, along with what to do if something goes wrong.
Is a standard split enough for a whole small home?
For a small, open-plan home it can be, but sizing depends on the floor area, insulation and orientation. We check this on site rather than guessing from square metres alone.
Can I add more rooms later?
Yes — a standard split doesn’t rule that out. If your needs grow, the next room is usually its own split system or part of a future multi-head setup.
Does it qualify for a VEU discount?
Only if it’s an approved product replacing an eligible existing system. We confirm that before quoting, not after.
