Solar
Rooftop solar for Victorian homes
Solar is the part of a home energy system that pays for itself most predictably. We design, supply and install solar panels across Victoria as a Solar Victoria authorised retailer.
Solar generates during the day, cuts what you buy from the grid, and — with a battery — covers the evening as well.
Being an authorised retailer is one of the conditions of claiming the state rebate, so it is worth checking for any installer you consider.
The rebate
The Victorian solar rebate
Up to $1,400 toward your system, plus an optional interest-free loan of up to $1,400 repaid monthly over four years. Taken together, that is up to $2,800 of support, half of it repayable.

To qualify, all of these need to be true:
- You own and live in the property, or own a home under construction.
- Combined household taxable income is under $150,000 — reduced from $210,000 on 1 July 2026.
- The property is valued under $3 million.
- No solar has been installed at the address in the last 10 years.
- The address hasn’t had a Solar Homes rebate before.
- The installer is an authorised retailer using approved products.
The 10-year rule catches people out. If the previous owner installed solar nine years ago, the address isn’t eligible yet — the rule follows the property, not the person.
Get approved before you install. Eligibility is approved first, then you have 120 days to install, or 270 days for a new build. A system installed before approval gets no rebate at all.
Batteries
Adding a battery later, or now
If there is any chance you will add a battery, the inverter choice matters now. A hybrid inverter takes a battery directly; a standard string inverter usually means adding more equipment later, or replacing it.
It is worth ten minutes of conversation at design stage rather than a second job in three years.
The process
What happens, step by step
Eligibility and design
We confirm which programs apply to you and design a system for your roof — orientation, shading, switchboard and your network’s export rules.
Approval
Your Solar Victoria eligibility and your network connection are approved before anything is ordered.
Installation
By accredited installers, to the current standards, across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Paperwork
The rebate and certificate paperwork is handled as part of the job.
How big a system do I need?
It depends on your usage, your roof space and your network’s export limit. Bigger is not automatically better — a system sized well beyond what you use just exports cheaply.
Will my roof suit solar panels?
Most do. Orientation, pitch, shading and roof condition all matter, and they are assessed on site before we commit to a design.
Can I get the rebate if I am renting my property out?
Not under the standard rebate, but Solar for Rentals offers up to $1,400 per property for up to two properties a financial year, with a signed owner and tenant agreement.
Do you install panels only, or systems?
Both. Most of our work is solar and battery together, but solar on its own is a perfectly sensible place to start.
Talk to a person
Rather talk it through?
If your roof, switchboard or usage is unusual, a short conversation will get you further than any set of questions.
