Queensland Business Energy Savings and Transformation (QBEST) Rebates
Small and medium-sized Queensland businesses are being rewarded for installing energy efficient appliances and equipment under the QBEST Rebates initiative. Rebates of up to $12,500 are available for small and medium-sized businesses to purchase and install energy efficient appliances and equipment. QBEST Rebates is a key initiative under the $62 billion Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan that aims to drive electricity bill savings and carbon emissions reductions for businesses.
Rebates
To claim a rebate, businesses must spend a minimum of $8,000 up to $25000 (ex GST) on the purchase and installation of eligible appliances and/or equipment. The rebate is 50 percent of the total cost up to a maximum of $12,500. Only one rebate is available for each eligible business, however a rebate application can consist of multiple energy efficiency equipment items.
Demonstrated energy saving
To be eligible, you must demonstrate the eligible appliance/equipment will lead to savings on the energy use and bills of your business, as well as contribute to the Queensland Government’s carbon reduction targets. There is no minimum savings amount – all improvements in energy efficiency help.
Program Duration
QBEST Rebates commenced on 5 October 2023 and will run until 30 June 2025 or when funding is exhausted.
